This tableau was slip cast from hand-built molds—forms I created and cast without a fixed plan. Like composing an abstract painting, I worked intuitively, arranging a variety of objects until the composition felt right. It was a playful process, not about telling a story, but allowing one to surface.
Among the cast forms are old radio tubes, which take on new roles—perhaps as luggage, offerings, or anchors. The figures gather on a textured mat, their rounded shapes and exaggerated features evoking a surreal moment, something between a carnival and a funhouse. It’s a frozen scene, where time seems to pause and the figures quietly convene.
