My inspiration for the eva dining table came from the work of sculptor eva hesse and her cube sculptures she made in the 1960's. I elaborated on the cube by building it out of 1" square oak beams and connecting them together in the corners using an alternating stacked assembly reminiscent of a box joint. the table is 54" in dia. and it stands 30" tall with a 3/4" glass top. the wood cube measures 20" wide x 20" deep and 16" high. the wood beams that act as the legs are 2" square. the surface of the wood has been charred and top coated with a satin clear polyurethane.
